Company History

The small Certified Public Accounting firm that became Enterprise Outfitters was founded by Victor Mote in 1987. It quickly evolved into a specialization of implementing, enhancing, and supporting computerized accounting systems, and by 1989 had ceased doing traditional accounting work. (Enterprise Outfitters is not today a CPA firm). Most of its revenue was derived from customizing a third-party accounting package.

In 1994, Victor Mote and two other shareholders incorporated Enterprise Outfitters, severed its relationship with the accounting package vendor, and began to develop the Tincup Enterprise System. This step cut them off from previous sources of revenue, but proved to be beneficial for customers, by greatly increasing the flexibility of its products and services. Many of the innovative approaches taken to licensing and products sprang out of frustrations with the options offered by traditional accounting software vendors.

Today, Enteprise Outfitters is a full-service Independent Software Vendor with a tradition of providing the highest level of customer satisfaction and value. We are currently focused more on product development than on market development, and expect to remain that way for several more years. We will work on only one new account at a time to ensure that we can focus on that organization's needs. New accounts will ideally have relatively sophisticated needs and will provide input that will allow us to expand our product capabilities.

Although we are privately held, and do not disclose detailed financial information to the public, we recognize that our customers need some level of assurance that we are financially solvent and able to remain in business. Our financial operations are basically breakeven. In other words, as additional revenues come in, they are immediately plowed back into product development and customer service initiatives. We believe that we are sufficiently capitalized to continue at our current pace indefinitely. Because our revenue model is a "rental" concept instead of the usual front-end-loaded software licensing deal, we are not dependent on developing new customers. Our cash flow is very stable, and we are able to focus on taking care of current customers instead of being forced to constantly develop new ones just to survive.

If you require a large company with a large balance sheet to provide your accounting system, we will not be able to help you (for the foreseeable future). Our experience with large companies (especially if publically held) is that they must be so bottom-line oriented that customers are actually at a greater risk of product discontinuance than with smaller companies whose employees feel a personal obligation to take care of the customer. We can't predict the future, but we have every reason to think that we will be around for a long time to take care of our customers. In addition, we provide source code escrow and innovative licensing arrangements to further protect your investment in us.
